Welcome to ESSE Adult Day Care Centers
3 Locations: Glen Ellyn, Wheaton and Warrenville Illinois (not-for-profit)
ESSE is a special place where seniors gather during the day to enjoy the companionship of new friends. ESSE offers a safe, relaxing environment with a variety of enjoyable, stimulating activities.

Seniors who attend ESSE Adult Day Care are a diverse yet compatible group. We provide day care services for the socially isolated, moderately handicapped or frail older adult. ESSE Adult Day Care Centers offer opportunities for socialization and recreation. At the same time caregivers receive a well needed respite while knowing that their loved one is enjoying time in a safe, friendly atmosphere.

Activities are designed to keep our clients active mentally and physically. We strive for a safe, friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
Daily Program Activities include:
* Talking about current events
* Active floor and table games
* Chair exercises
* Music and singing
* Arts and crafts
* Discussions: contemporary and devotional
* Relaxation time
Morning and afternoon snacks every day.
Lunch accompanied by milk, coffee, etc. is provided
(you may bring your own lunch if you prefer)
Special Activities include:
* Holiday Celebrations
* Parties
* Birthdays
* Intergenerational visits (kids!)
* Pet therapy
* Outings
Podiatrist Scott A. Zimmerman DPM visits each ESSE location every two months to provide foot care for clients. He accepts Medicare and secondary insurance. Older Adults often have difficulty caring for their feet and recognizing problems. Dr. Zimmerman helps keep feet healthy by trimming nails, treating corns and calluses, bunions and any other minor or serious problems of the foot.
Contact the Program Manager at one of our 3 ESSE Adult Day Care Centers to arrange a visit and to learn about the registration process. We encourage you to spend as much time as you like observing our clients and the various activities. The Program Manager will answer all of your questions about ESSE Adult Day Care.

Full Day: (more than 4 hrs) $55 (includes lunch)
Half Day: (4 hrs or less).... $35 (includes lunch)
Fees are payable in advance for the next month.
ESSE Adult Day Care Centers are normally open
Monday through Friday 7 am to 5 pm
For qualified applicants financial assistance is available through the State of Illinois Community Care Program (CCP). DuPage County Human Services located in Wheaton determines if individuals qualify. An ESSE Program Manager can provide contact information to you.
If your loved one has a "Long Term Care" insurance policy it may include coverage for Adult Day Care
The ESSE Caregiver Support Group meets:
3rd Thursday of every month
3:00-4:30 pm
Anyone in the community may attend.

* ESSE is a not-for-profit Adult Day Care Center with 3 locations
* ESSE exists to serve the needs of area seniors and caregivers
* ESSE client fees do not cover all expenses
* ESSE is funded by churches, United Way, grants, & donations

Donate online to ESSE
To donate money online to ESSE click the "Donate online" button below.
You will be taken to the ESSE page on the GuideStar website. GuideStar receives and transfers donations to registered non-profit organizations (ESSE)
Donating online is just like buying on line--only you are donating money to ESSE instead of making a purchase. On the GuideStar page--on the upper left hand corner fill in the amount you wish to donate to ESSE. On the lower left hand corner of that same page click on "add to giving cart." You are taken to another page on which you can review your donation before it is finalized. If everything is correct then click "proceed to check out." Follow the instructions to complete your online donation to ESSE.

ESSE always needs volunteers of any age who enjoy interacting with our Senior Clients. Join us for an hour or a day; every day, once a week, once a month, or once a year. We also invite those volunteers who can play the piano, sing, or have other talents to contact one of our Program Managers about sharing your time and abilities with our seniors.
Helpful volunteers can:
• Assist staff with arts and crafts projects
• Participate in group activities
• Read to our seniors
• Share a talent with the group
• Visits by friendly pets are always welcomed
• Bring your children-Seniors love children!
• Assist with Bingo, Bunco, Cards; various table games
• Show slides/videos of vacations and trips
• Homemade treats for morning/afternoon break are always appreciated
• Help with lunch set up/clean up
ESSE Adult Day Care Centers welcomes volunteers who are attuned to the elderly; enjoy their company and who appreciate the wisdom that only age and experience can bring.
Whether you participate a little or a lot your donation of time or supplies are greatly appreciated.
